One of the island’s most popular gathering spots, the Tennis Club is fully equipped with a pro shop and six floodlit courts — two Laycold (hard court) and four Omni (Astroturf) — that can be reserved for play between sunrise and 8:30 PM. Use of the courts is complimentary and rackets can be rented for just $US 10 per day.
Richard Schaffer, the island’s resident tennis pro since 1998 is an expert at matching guests of similar skill levels for games of singles or doubles. They give private lessons and organize adult and junior tournaments. Pee-wee camps (aimed at children from 3 to 13 years) are held here at various times throughout the year.
TennisErcise classes, a unique mix of exercises and tennis, take place three days a week at 4:00 PM. Every Sunday afternoon from 4 to 6 PM, the mixed-doubles round-robin is another great opportunity to meet fellow guests.
