Whether you are a professional or a keen amateur photographer, for those who love photography, this is a rare opportunity. This June, renowned Magnum photographer Jonas Bendiksen will come to Mustique for a 5-day photography experience. The week will contain a mixture of discussions, tutorials and workshops, as well as several “field trips” both on island and also one on the mainland, St. Vincent.
The experience begins with Jonas honing in on the visual inspiration that each guest has found most impactful in their own photography before he takes the lead on a thrilling series of photography workshops in the field. Explore some of the island’s most spectacular and historic villas through the theme ‘Place, Textures and Light’, and capture the interplay of the natural and the manmade.
Each day will feature a different theme; Inspirations and Concepts; Place, Textures and Light; Storytelling; Documenting Nature; Industry Insights. The practical sessions will focus on a mixture of architectural / interiors, nature & reportage photography. Most of the week will be spent exploring Mustique but there is also a day on location in St. Vincent and a boat trip to capture the island from a unique perspective.
Creative workshops will enhance guests’ practical know-how through the application of creative angles and unexpected vantage points, with an emphasis on developing a closer understanding of camera techniques and technologies and more robust selection and digital photo-editing practices.
This workshop will run from 10-16 June 2023. There are a limited number of spaces available so to find out more information and to book your place, please contact Alice Cunningham.
