COVID-19 Health & Travel Advisory for July & August 2020

This guidance is based on what we currently know about re-entry to St Vincent and the Grenadines and Mustique in particular.

Please note that this information is accurate at time of issue but has been and will be subject to change.

Please also note that re-entry protocols from international ports of embarkation are also subject to short lead change and you should check these protocols before travel.

St Vincent and the Grenadines

From 1st July 2020 guests will be able to arrive on Mustique and not be subject to quarantine based on providing the following:

  • – COVID 19 PCR – Test Certificate – negative test result (taken 72 hours prior to departure)
  • – Completed VINCYCOVID questionnaire (which will be provided by your booking agent)

Guests who arrive on Mustique or St Vincent without the approved test result as above may be subjected to rapid testing and specimen collection on arrival and may be asked to quarantine until negative results are processed. Anyone testing positive on the PCR test will be placed into mandatory 14 day quarantine at their villa.

All guests should send their test result by email to their booking agent as soon as it is completed as this allows time for pre-clearance protocol with the Ministry of Health and avoids guests being barred entry.

International Carriers

Please note that your international carrier will have in place specific requirements for boarding which may include the mandatory wearing of masks and defined social distancing measures.

Please note that it is certain that airport and airline procedures will take much longer than normal and more time should be allowed.

Local Shuttle Transfer

Please note that all passengers travelling on our local shuttle whether arriving or departing Mustique will be required to wear medical grade masks (these masks will not be provided).

Travel through Caribbean ports of entry

St Lucia

Guests arriving in St Lucia will be required to produce a negative PCR test certificate taken 72 hours before departure and displaying a negative result. This will enable guests to avoid rapid antibody testing on arrival and the possibility of a 24 hour quarantine in St Lucia. Guests will also be required to pre-register prior to travel. The link to pre-register will be available on this page from July 9th.

Barbados

Guests arriving in Barbados will be required to produce a negative PCR test certificate taken 72 hours before departure and displaying a negative result. This will enable guests to avoid the possibility of a quarantine in Barbados. Guests will also be required to pre-register online (a link will be featured here as soon as it is available) prior to travel.

Martinique

Please be aware that Mustique Airways can provide a shuttle service to and from Mustique and Fort de France. Currently there are strict protocols for transiting through France however and not all passengers may be able to meet these conditions. Currently a negative PCR test certificate is mandatory for those arriving from France into Fort de France.

Private Aircraft Arrivals

Please note that for arrival into St Vincent or Canuoan you may be asked to present your negative PCR test certificate. Please note that in all cases these test certificates should be emailed to Cordelia@mustique.vc prior to your international departure.

Infants

Please note that tests for infants up to and including 5 years of age are not required.

Getting to Mustique

Travel

There are frequent direct international flights from Europe, UK, US, Canada and South America to St Lucia and Barbados on airlines such as British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, American Airlines, Delta, Air Canada and Jet Blue.

From St Lucia international airport it’s a short but spectacular 25-minute flight to Mustique. From Barbados it is a slightly longer but equally spectacular 50-minute flight across the Grenadines.

Getting to Mustique

Fly Mustique

The island has its own fleet of 18-seater Twin Otter aircraft that run daily from St Lucia. During peak season (July – August & November – April) additional connecting flights are available from Barbados on a Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Arrival in St Lucia or Barbados

When you arrive in either airport you will be met by our Meet and Greet representative in the arrivals hall holding a sign with your name on it. They will fast-track you through all the formalities and accompany you to the Mustique lounge where you can help yourself to refreshments while waiting for your short hopper to Mustique.

Every effort is made to schedule hopper flights as close to international arrival times as possible. Our goal is to get you to Mustique as quickly as possible, but please be aware that you may have a short wait while we prepare the aircraft, and these times can vary, particularly in peak season.

Flying to St. Vincent

There are regular services on American Airlines from Miami, Caribbean Airlines from New York and Canada Air from Toronto into Argyle International Airport on St. Vincent. Our own airline, Air Adelphi, currently does not operate any regular connecting flights between Mustique and St. Vincent. However, the short hop from St. Vincent to Mustique can be arranged through one of our partners, either by private charter or by boat. If you are keen to get on island, the flight takes approximately 7 minutes, or if you are happy to start your holiday with a relaxing drink onboard a catamaran, the sail to Mustique takes about an hour. To book a private charter or a boat, please contact flights@mustique.vc.

Landing on Mustique

Planes cannot land on Mustique at night because the runway does not have lights. So we recommend that you travel with a small overnight bag, in case your international flight is delayed. If this happens, and we cannot take off from BGI or UVF in time to land on Mustique in daylight, you will need to stay overnight in Barbados or Saint Lucia. Sunset times vary, but as a rule, if your international flight lands after 3.30pm, we cannot guarantee a same day arrival on island.

N.B The Mustique Company will help with logistics as much as we can, but it will not be liable for any additional costs incurred due to the late arrival of international carriers.

Fly Mustique Reservations

If you are booking a villa, the connecting flights for you and your guests will automatically be taken care of. Your villa services representative will just need details of your international arrival and departure flights and passport information.

All passengers travelling to Mustique will be booked on the first available aircraft following their international arrival. Our aircraft are scheduled to meet demand and to reduce waiting times to an absolute minimum.

If you have any further questions regarding flights please contact travel@mustique.vc or call +1 784 488 8424.
